Chairperson Paul Baker commented at the AGM that 2010 had witnessed further growth. He thanked the entire Committee for putting in so much effort to make this possible and confirmed that the club was applying for a grant to resurface the courts.

More Friendly Matches against Richmond, West Tanfield, Leyburn and Bedale were successfully organised by Nicky Hignett in 2010. Tom Johnson is taking over from Nicky and we intend to repeat these enjoyable mixed doubles matches in 2011 as well as men's and Intermediates doubles to involve even more club members.

Social Tennis Sessions run by Terry Marshall and Paul Baker on Wednesday evenings and Thursday afternoons were really well attended with all 3 courts often being used. It was great fun for all as well as keeping us fit! More of the same in 2011.

Professional Coaching will again be offered to Adults and subsidised by the club for our Intermediate and Junior members during 2011 for a total of £5 for 10 hour-long sessions! A great introduction to the game of tennis and the way to continue to improve your game. An offer not to be missed at 50p a session!!…

Black Sheep Brewery… A big thank you for its continued support of tennis in Masham.

The Annual Club Tournament held in August turned out to be another spectacular success.

Places were swiftly taken up and luckily the weather was with us! We will definitely be staging a third tournament on Sunday 28th August 2011 – more news nearer the time.

Maintenance of the courts and of the facilities was superbly overseen by Terry Marshall and thanks to all those members who turned out at the beginning of the season to prepare the courts with a bit of sweeping. A bottle of champagne was presented to Terry at the Annual Tournament as a gesture of thanks for the backbreaking work he has put in during 2010.

A grant is being applied for at Awards For All through Masham Sports Association to resurface the courts and we're keeping our fingers crossed!

The courts will again be treated for moss in early spring when the weather permits and a new net for court no. 1 has been installed.

A Child Protection Policy has been introduced and the club is providing its facilities for the use of Masham Primary School during summer term 2011.

The club constitution was amended and the quorum requirement of 15 people was reduced to 10 people.

Thank you for supporting your local tennis club
